I strongly believe in cleansing with food. Starving is not my method of internal detoxification. Food is powerful medicine and diet matters. I feed my body and skin nourishing, healing foods that are easy to process. My Detox Soup is a delicious cleansing companion. It’s vegetarian, but can easily be turned into a bone broth for meat-eaters by adding a whole chicken and simmering for several hours. I sip this soup morning, noon, and night!

3-4 inches burdock root
1 onion
2 carrots
1 bunch parsley
4 stalks celery
6 shiitake mushrooms
1 stick astragalus root
2 zucchini
6 stalks kale
2 cloves garlic

1/8 inch of fresh Turmeric root
Red pepper flakes to taste
Sugar-free vegetable broth or bouillon
Optional: lentils
Chop and prep all veggies
On a low heat, sauté onions, mushrooms, red pepper flakes, and garlic until golden. Add all other veggies, water, and broth and simmer for 1 hour.
