The skin around your eyes is unlike any other on your face. It’s thinner, more delicate, and has fewer oil glands and different pore structures making it more vulnerable to dehydration, fine lines, and signs of fatigue. Because of this, it requires specially formulated products and a gentle touch to keep it healthy and radiant.
Why It Needs Special Care:
The under-eye area is one of the first places to show signs of stress, fatigue, and aging due to:
-
Thinner skin – less collagen and fat cushioning means more visible fine lines.
-
Limited oil production – dries out faster and doesn’t self-lubricate like other areas.
-
Higher movement – constant blinking and facial expressions lead to quicker breakdown of elasticity.
Day vs. Night: Treat According to Your Skin’s Natural Rhythm
-
Daytime = Defense Mode: During the day, your skin is in protection mode. Your under-eye treatment should focus on hydration, antioxidants, and barrier support to defend against environmental stressors like UV rays, pollution, and screen exposure.
-
THE MORNING ROUTINE:
After your regular cleansing routine, apply an easy at home depuffing ice treatment by freezing cubes of chamomile tea, putting one into a washcloth, and gently applying it to the under eye area. Avoid excess pressure and softly pat the skin only. Chamomile is great for visibly reducing inflammation and is recommended to use in the mornings. You can also leave a spoon in the fridge for a quick on the go puffy eye treatment. Just apply gently to the under eye area.
Next, apply an under eye roll on, such as our Calm, Cool, Collected. The thin oils will readily absorb into your skin while the roller ball application will provide a gentle lymphatic draining massage. Apply your thicker eye cream, such as our Eye'm In Love to seal in those beneficial ingredients and keep your under eyes fresh all day long.

Nighttime = Repair Mode: While you sleep, your skin shifts into repair and regeneration. This is when you want active ingredients that help firm, smooth, and restore the delicate eye area. Night products tend to be richer to support overnight recovery.
-
THE NIGHT ROUTINE:
After your regular end of day cleansing, we like to break out the ice cubes again to provide our under eye area with much needed relief. However instead of reaching for your Chamomile cubes, since your skin is more accepting to those anti-aging ingredients, we recommend freezing some cubes of black or green tea, both rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, perfect for fine lines. Put one in a wash cloth and gently pat and rest on the under eye area.
After you've applied your tea cubes, it's time to revisit our under eye rollers. Apply a more intensive under eye treatment such as our Eyes Don't Lie and seal it in with our Wise Eyes, made with several fantastic anti-aging ingredients such as Prickly Pear, Pear Oil, and Turmeric for those dark circles.

Application Tips for Eye Care:
-
Use your two weakest fingers: The ring and pinky fingers apply the least pressure, helping you gently tap product in without tugging or stretching the skin.
-
Avoid abrasives or scrubs: Manual exfoliation is too harsh for this area and can lead to microtears and irritation.
-
Use warm (not hot) water: Hot water can strip skins natural oils, breakdown it's natural barrier, cause premature aging and inflame.
-
Pat dry, don’t rub: Use a soft towel and pat the area dry to prevent unnecessary friction.
Look For These Beneficial Ingredients:
-
Peptides – help boost collagen and firm the skin
-
Hyaluronic Acid – provides deep hydration and plumps fine lines
-
Niacinamide – brightens and reduces dark circles
-
Caffeine – helps reduce puffiness and constrict blood vessels
-
Ceramides – strengthen the skin barrier and lock in moisture
-
Antioxidants (like Vitamin C, Green Tea, or CoQ10) – defend against oxidative stress and premature aging
Avoid These Around the Eye Area:
-
Fragrance (synthetic or natural) – often causes irritation or sensitivity in this delicate zone
-
Harsh exfoliants (like AHAs, scrubs, or acids not designed for eyes) – can cause inflammation or damage
-
Essential oils – even natural ones can sting or disrupt the skin barrier
-
Heavy oils or comedogenic ingredients – can clog pores and cause milia (tiny white bumps)
-
Undiluted actives (like high-strength retinol or Vitamin C serums) unless specifically formulated for eyes, they can be too potent
Pro Tip: A little goes a long way—about a grain of rice per eye is all you need. And consistency is key. Gentle, regular care over time is what creates visible results.
